It is finally here. Lime had a plan to launch in Fairfax County back in March, which never happened for some reason. I got a surprising text this afternoon from Lime. Here is the text
Hey Juicer! Limes are live in Fairfax County! Be sure to check your app tonight to start making money on your own time.
Fairfax County is more than 400 square miles big. But guess what? Lime launched its first fleet in Fairfax County just about 10 minutes from my home.
I believe I got the first Limes just like how I captured the first set of Limes in Arlington when they launched.
I’m going to bring more Limes to Fairfax County and fill up the available nests. I hope the program survives here.
The Lime Hubs are close enough from GMU (George Mason University). Once the students learn about the scooters, the program has a chance to thrive here. GMU has an excellent shuttle service all through out the County, but the students will choose scooters for those close destinations for sure.
Unlike other university towns, everything is about 5-10 minutes away from the university. Students are using Lyft and Uber to get to those destinations. Electric scooters will be welcomed by GMU students.
