One of the top issues Bird chargers in Arlington & DC were having was the lack of nests to drop off damaged scooters. We have so many damaged scooters in Arlington that all the nests get over-filled every night.
At the Bird charger meetup with Bird staff, we were told that they are always looking for good spots to create additional nests for damaged scooters.
I’ve had a few spots in mind, so I checked them out a few days ago. Here are some of the photos I’ve taken at the possible locations.
My top choice was the gravel area near Arlington Road (Route 50). It is in a convenient location. You can basically drop as many Birds there and not worry about those because that spot doesn’t block anything. Not much foot traffic around.
Bird picked the under the bridge spot. I’m a little worried about that spot because both sides of the bridge columns are the trail.
All these spots are temporary solutions. Bird is working on finding a few permanent central locations for the damaged scooter. Meanwhile, these spots should be good enough. The under the bridge spot now has 2, 20 limit nests created. Thanks, Bird.
